Okay, so me and a friend were discussing this at dinner tonight and I wanted to blog about to get your opinion. Abortion, is it right? Do you think it is a women’s choice? Do you think the father should have an input on the decision?
I know this is a very controversial issue and I’m curious to see what others think about it…
Personally, I think that a women has the right to do what ever she wants with her life, however I also feel that the father should be allowed to have a say as well. I know that if I were a straight man and my girlfriend accidentally got pregnant, I would want her to keep it… and I would try my very best to support her and the baby… and to know that someone has the power to destroy something that you‘ve created…. It would kill me. As a gay male, I still want children very badly… I think that being able to reproduce is a very beautiful thing and I think it is taken for granted sometimes…
I also understand that sometimes, you are just not prepared to take care of a child and it would be better to abort then for the child to grow up not having the best life possible or even have to grow up in a foster home, and I can honestly say that I don’t wish that upon anyone… so I see many sides of the issue and I am torn on how I should feel.
So many people are not even capable of reproducing… and consider life a gift that is so very precious and rare and they view women who have abortions to be monsters and heartless… They could always give it up right? Well, think about that for a minute… if you have something growing inside you for 9months, becoming more humanlike everyday, and then you look at the face of the child that you have produced with all its beauty… tell me how easy it would be for you to just give it away to a stranger…
I also disagree with women who tell men that it is their choice and they are going to do whatever thy want with it. While this may be true… I find these kind of women to be the most insincere, heartless beings of them all…. The father of the baby should be allowed to have a say in what happens to his baby. Its unfair to strip him of fatherhood because a women isn’t ready… sorry.
Also, if later in life you decide to have a baby after you have had an abortion… would you be able to love that child without the haunting knowledge of the unborn child you could have had…

I’m sorry if I upset anyone with my thoughts, but this topic makes me so bipolar it is unreal! I really want to know what you guys that about it?
